Detlev Nitschke (German, born 1935) is a German artist known for his picturesque scenes developed from plein-air painting into designs for calendars and maps. His work is heavily influenced by both the American Impressionists and his travels throughout Europe and Russia. Born in 1935 in Berlin, Germany, Nitschke studied lithography at Meisterschule Fur Druck & Graphik, and later worked as a director for a graphics company. He is a member of the Society of Berlin Painters of Architecture and has exhibited in New York, Boston, and Cape Cod. More on Detlev Nitschke
